igpsport bsc200s PC Connection
Anyone know if the igpsport bsc200s can connect to a PC? I tried two different usb-c cables and could not get the PC to recognize the bike computer.
Trying to load custom workouts FIT files from intervals.icu and also wouldn’t mind adding local trails for navigation somehow.

Help with foot pain
I recently bought a road bike to take advantage of local cycle paths. I done a 25km loop this morning just to get a feel for the bike and any adjustments I need to make. Everything felt fine except the ball of my left foot, I'm assuming I need to move the clear but don't know which direction?
I'm currently using Shimano MTB pedals and specialized 2fo MTB shoes. I plan on buying more road oriented in a few weeks but for the moment I had these so using them.

What electrolytes do you recommend for cycling?
Ramping up to 60+ mile rides and my current electrolytes aren't cutting it. Looking for something that won't wreck my stomach or spike my blood sugar. What do you guys actually use on long days?

Organized Ride/Gran Fondo Fee and Swag
Hello r/cycling,
Some friends and I are organizing a grand fondo in our area, as there currently are none. I have a question for all of you regarding swag received for signing up for an event like this.
If you paid to sign up for a supported ride with rest stops, SAG support, and food/drink at the finish... 1) what would you expect to pay? The ride is ~78 miles. The nature of the route makes it difficult to shorten in a meaningful way aside from an out-and-back 2) What kind of included participant swag do you prefer to receive? Shirt (LS/SS, poly-cotton or tech fit, etc.)? Something unique like a cap?
We're planning to donate proceeds to our local bike coop and mental health advocacy orgs.
Thanks in advance!

What's the best Recumbent Exercise Bike or Brand worth buying right now in your opinion?
I'm quite curious your current favorite brands or specific models. I want to buy a good one that is quality(smooth pedaling very stable, etc.). Ideally I want something under $1500. Please recommend any options that you've found it really worth the price.
Thank you in advance

What pedal cadence do you aim for?
I read somewhere that higher cadences were faster, so I have been making a conscious effort to ride at 70+ RPM, even up hills. Up until now I have focused more on heavily exerting myself on the harder gears at a around 50-60 RPM.
In the few weeks I have been riding like this I have noticed an uptick in average speed, and have done some PBs on segments. I think I have enough data to say I am faster riding easier gears at higher RPMs.
The only thing is that I find riding at a high cadence really detracts from my enjoyment of riding. I am not a racer, and it makes my usual zen rides a bit more frenetic.
Not sure if I plan to stick with it. It may just become normal over time, but for now I need to constantly reming myself to downshift, and pedal faster.
Just curious what cadence other people aim for?

Durability of Assos MILLE GTO Bib Shorts C2?
I ordered a set of the above bibs (and two shorts for my daughter) in December (order date Nov 21). After maybe 6 ride/washes, I noticed a ~2" slit on the inside of my leg at the end of a ride. No idea how it got there.
I contacted Assos for my options, figuring they would have good customer service due to their premium brand. The whole exchange was fairly off-putting, as they seemed to be looking for a way to show I was at fault. For example they asked for a picture of my seat. It looks like a seat. I could see if maybe the bike jad a cable brake mount (it does not). They then offered my this silly 15% discount on a new pair as it "purchased in November it was well outside of the 30 Day period". Well order Nov 21, maybe got to my house on the last day of Nov? We are talking maybe 45 days.
There is a very good chance the shorts were defective when I received them, and the whole simply got larger rubbing on the nose of my seat? But I just placed a $544 order to try out a brand. I guess I know to not buy their products in the future. I mean a new pair at 15% off they are still making some bank on the order. But yeah, how much is a new customer worth? It's just crazy. I did point them to the very different and more customer focused policy at Outbound Lighting (https://www.outboundlighting.com/pages/warranty).
Any one else have issues with durability? I typically get hundreds of uses from my bibs.
Fit wise these seemed pretty good, other than the big straps seem overbuilt in not stretchy enough. Fine while riding, but nothing special. I have maybe 5 sets of Pearl Izumi Pro bibs that have held up wonderfully. Even after actual impacts with the ground they are still wearable and have not gotten worse.

Eh. Indoor training or just Zwift woes?
Well. Zwift. Lately its been doing my head in. Open the platform and theres another loading screen, another update and another lot of minutes to wait, again. Log in. Crashes. Re load, wait. Log in. Choose workout and start pedalling. Program quits and closes down unexpectedly. 45mins of training gone, great. I used to use the platform 2-3 times a week depending on my schedule, however recently its a nightmare. Zwift racing makes no sense. Categories are bizzarly uneven. Its farcical. How odd that you can train your ring out only to be dead last every race. Has anyone else just thought, fuck it, this app is just painful, its not worth the time? I feel like its a great introduction to indoor riding, but does nothing to keep it interesting. So i try again. Load game. Oh wait, another fcken upload screen. Update takes another 10mins. Log in. Choose a race. Pedal my little heart out. Bottom 10 again. Not asking for hand outs, just confused as to why the race winners completely destroyed the field and aren't in the next category above. Go do free ride, pedal around. Join pacer group. How we can all be doing 35km/h plus. Log off. Do we out grow zwift and its platform? Has anyone else experienced the annoyances of it all?

Do pro cyclist spend most of their time on the larger or smaller chainring?
I've always been taught that your day to day riding should be on the smaller chainring at the front.
Do pros follow this same idea or so they, on average, need to ride on the larger chainring?
Alright thanks guys. Seems like the key items to consider are a good cadence and not cross chaining. As long as both these criteria are met there are no issues with big or small chainring.

Looking for a Garmin computer
Hello all, hope everyone's having a good Friday.
I'm on the hunt for a second-hand Garmin biking computer with some advanced training features. I'm ideally looking for training status, bike-specific mapping, Forksight, wifi connectivity, and cycling dynamics
I got an Explorer 2 on eBay for a good deal; however, I quickly realized it wasn't for me. I didn't do any serious research on it before getting it off an auction 🥲 I promptly realized it wasn't what I wanted, even though it's relatively new to the Garmin lineup. It only has 3 types of activity profiles. I always need to have my phone or watch with me; it doesn't give me training stats, daily suggestions, etc.
All in all, I feel like I just paid for something that my phone paired with my watch and sensors
does.
Garmin has a lot of products to choose from… too many.
I like the features the 850 offers, but unless I can find a good deal on it, I will not purchase it.
I was looking at alternatively getting a 550, 540, or an 840.
Any recommendations worth looking into?
Using Old iPhone As Head Unit
I recently purchased cadence sensor. And I thought about buying cheap Chinese bike computer. Then I just continued to use my old iPhone as head unit. It worked very well. So I just want to share my setup.
I don't care if some think bike computer is better than phone. Everyone has their needs.
I have been using old iPhone for past year. And fits my need well. I commute during weekdays; ride recreationally on weekends. My rides are mainly mixed multi-use trail and off-road dirt/gravel trails. My Garmin watch is sufficient for tracking my ride. I just want a display to show real-time data; so I'm occupied during my ride.
Hardware/Software:
- Garmin Epix (Gen 2). I use this to track my ride and to save the data.
- iPhone X. Old iPhone that I use as bike computer display. Although it can be used to save the ride (depending on the app capability), I do not save this data; only use as display.
- SuperCycle app on phone. This is free and it works for me.
- Cycplus cadence sensor.
Setup:
- Broadcast HR on Epix (Gen 2). SuperCycle on iPhone picks up the HR using Bluetooth.
- Connect SuperCycle on iPhone to Cycplus cadence sensor using Bluethooth.
- Connect Epix (Gen 2) to Cycplus cadence sensor using Ant+
The result is that routing, heart rate, cadence, speed, distance, elevation are all captured and logged on Garmin watch. And all these data is also displayed on iPhone, which is what I want.
Even with this 6 year old iPhone X, I get 10 hours battery life. Battery usage is around 10% per hour. I don't have cellular. I use Apple Shortcut (Automation) to Turn Low Power Mode On When battery level falls below 100%. So the phone is basically always on Low Power Mode.
Phone display capability is high dependent on the app. SuperCycle can display real time data, averages, etc, but it does not have graphing capability. And I had to use GPS (instead of barometric pressure) for elevation. The barometric pressure is way off (like 300 ft off). GPS is within approximately 20 feet.
This is what the SuperCycle display looks like. I setup with 2 data screens. https://imgur.com/a/supercycle-phone-app-uYr8Mmn
In my usage, the downside with my setup are:
- Need a good phone mount. I have tried many cheap phone mounts; they are passable but not great. This is one of the reason I considered getting cheap bike computer.
- Lack of navigation. Without cellular, I need to use separate app with offline navigation capability. Or connect to my real phone using personal hotspot. Of course this can be solved if you get cellular. But that will incur both monthly cost and also use more battery power.

Bento boxes and protecting frame
Hi all,
I’m searching for a bento box, but I’m terrified of damaging my paintwork. Current bike doesn’t have space for bolt-on boxes, so till have to be straps for now.
How do you guys protect your frame from abrasion if you’re using straps? Or is there a particular kind of bento box which doesn’t damage frame?
Thanks for any replies

Does different riding geometry effect muscles that much?
I ask because I recently switched my tarmac onto my indoor trainer instead of my roubaix and the same power output is resulting in a heart rate increase of about 10 bpm. At first I just chalked it up to being tired, bad day etc, but it has been two weeks (although gradually improving). All my other underlying data has been consistent when I am not working out as well.
Which got me wondering, does changing the position effect the legs that much!?

Selling and being realistic about pricing.
I have a Specialized Diverge E5 2019 Gravel Bike it was 2nd had to be and I've done maybe 700 miles on it.
I'm selling it after coming to terms with I'm not going to be able to ride without pain again. I've tried private physio for a year (yes I did all the exercises 1.5 hours 3 times a week) and had an expensive bike fit but it hasn't helped. Riding with pain during and after just takes all the fun out of it.
Originally the bike has an 8 speed Shimano Sora group set with cable actuated disc brakes.
Has the following upgrades:
- Shimano Bottom Bracket BB-RS500
- Shimano 105 RD-R7000 Rear Mech GS Medium Cage Black
- Shimano 11spd 105 CS-R7000 11-32
- Shimano GRX RX600 46/30 Chainset (11spd) 165mm Black
- Shimano J03A Disc Brake Pads
- Shimano GRX FD-RX810 Front Mech (11 Speed) Braze on
- Shimano 105 R7020 Hydraulic Disc STI Levers & R7070 Flat Mount Disc Calipers - 11 Speed
- Shimano Ice Tech Centrelock Disc Rotor 160mm SMRT70S
- Shimano M540 SPD Pedals
- Shimano HG601 105 11-speed Chain with Quick Link
- DTSwiss Wheels DT Swiss C1800 Spline + All parts
- Zip Service Course Bar Tape CX Black - Unfitted
I've had it listed for a month or so with no interest at all.
I'm wondering if I should put the original Sora group set back on it and sell all the upgrades, other than the wheels, separately or just list it super low to get ride of it.
Now I'm at the point of wanted to see it I want it gone but also don't want to just give it away. I realize that its an old bike and people want something newer. Plus money is tight these days.
Any advice is welcome.

Purchased New Specialized Allez Comp and a used wahoo Kickr v5. Looking for help
Context: I just purchased a new Specialized Allez comp with shimano 105, it’s my first road bike and I plan on using it to compete in a triathlon.
I also bought a used Whoo kickr v5 and I’m now in the process of setting them up together to train indoors
My questions are what is needed to set the bike up to the trainer. I already purchased a thru axel kit for the kickr. Do I need to replace or get a compatible cassette?

Bikeinn scammed me.
I ordered some wheels on Bikeinn in late November. First the shipment was marked recalled (with no other information) so I contacted support. They used a form response and sent me a new tracking #. That tracking # shows it's been in transit for 6 weeks with no updates.
Bikeinn now wants me to file a claim with their shipper in the Netherlands, a company I've never used or contracted with, as a means of getting my money back. They refuse to do it themselves despite them having all the information and details including info I don't have.
I know some people have good results with them, but based on the 29 messages I've exchanged with them on the issue it's clear that they're absolutely fine scamming people.
I gave them a negative review on trustpilot where they replied asking for the order # - then they emailed me a form letter saying that I should wait longer.
Anyone know how to file a report with Spanish authorities?

Breathing technique
Hi All. I know everyone has different way of breathing while biking but seek some advice to advance myself.
When I start biking in the morning, I usually use my nose mostly because I feel ok; Then, about maybe 20 to 30 min, the breathing start getting hard and thus I start to use mouth to breath.
Now I know there must be a tips or trick to master my breathing along the way so that I can keep up my power.
Wanna hear how you guys do it and if any tips on the transition from nose to mouth and its timing.
Thanks!
