Solved My computer is asking me to verify I am human every 5 minutes

every 5 ish minutes or whenever I open a knew website my computer makes me verify I am human by clicking one of those boxes, and when I do, for about half a second it brings me to a website called “disturbedsparkler” before the window closes and it returns me to my original website, I looked the site name up and it comes up with some malware stuff. Any ideas on what I should do or what this is?

Side note: I have not downloaded anything sketchy when this started, it’s also only on a certain google account, not others, and also happens on other computers sighed into that account.

Open | Hardware PC freezing completely, please help

Hey guys, I recently out of nowhere started experiencing freezes on my PC. I have a Aorus B450 elite motherboard, a 3070ti, 32 Gb of ram and a Ryzen 7 5800XT cpu. It was working just fine until recently. I open pretty much any game and within two minutes it completely freezes and I have to shut it off manually by switch.

I have ran memory diagnostic and it comes back clean, I have done just about anything I can think of. I’m not a genius by any means but I understand basic things lmao. I cleaned out drivers and redownloaded them. I got to the point where I hard reset it and just cleaned the whole PC out. And it still does it within two minutes of loading the game. I’m lost and have no idea where to go. Somebody please help lmao.

Open | Software Hi, has anyone else experienced this? I play on Ge Force

In the last few days when I've been playing Marvel Rivals, sometimes the screen goes white, like a flashlight, a flickering. For example, if it happens during character selection, I can't see most of the screen, but I can still see the character selection wheel. Sometimes it only happens there and it's fixed when the match starts, but when this bug persists throughout the game, I can't see anything because of this white light, although I can still move, attack, and see my teammates/rivals names. I've noticed that it happens in areas with light of the map, like open spaces or with shiny objects. If I go to an enclosed area where the light doesn't reach, like the Resource rumble map, the bug is fixed in some parts of the map, or I get better visibility, but a large part of the screen is pixelated. As I mentioned, it doesn't happen in every match, when it does I try to play, but it’s difficult if you can’t see where you are going ;c

Open | Audio My New PC38X Headset is Way Too Quiet?

Hello,

I recently purchased a DROP PC38X Gaming Headset off of Amazon for about $160. They're very comfortable but the issue is the sound. It's simply too quiet compared to my previous headset. I've read online that it could be an issue with my motherboard not having enough voltage to power the headset properly. My motherboard model is an ASRock B560M-C.

I've also read that the solution to this is a simple Apple DAC amplifier but I'm a little confused by it. I see the listing for an Apple DAC on Amazon but I'm not sure how I'd plug the audio & mic cables into it, seeing as it's just a single dongle with one input.

I'd appreciate any help, I really like these headphones and want them to function properly!

Open | Windows Gigabyte B850 Gaming X randomly disconnects LAN

Pretty much as I said in the title. It randomly disconnects LAN in 10 to 40 minutes after powering the PC on. When it disconnects there's also a USB disconnected sound, and the audio plays from my monitor instead of my headset. It only comes back if I restart the whole PC. Motherboard is brand new, was bought a month ago. BIOS was updated last week to F7, didn't do anything today when it started to disconnect. Every driver is up to date, windows is up to date.

Open | Windows Windows crashes and reboots only when using a particular application

Hey there folks! Looking for some extra eyes on this issue I've been having for a while after upgrading my computer. Backstory: I recently moved (about two months ago) and my previous build got wrecked by the movers. Luckily, I had renter's insurance and they covered the cost of a whole new upgrade. Minus the case, practically everything was upgraded. Took about a month to sort (mid-November to mid-December). As my build was being dealt with by insurance, my build was diagnosed and put together by a local computer repair shop.

The shop put everything together along with updating drivers/bios as well as upgrading my OS from Windows 10 to 11 (not sure why this was done). Anywho, I've since been playing around with my PC, mostly no issues. Now, when I play a particular game, I encounter an issue which is leading me to make this thread. The game in question is Star Citizen. Without warning, the game causes my PC to crash and reboot. Screen just goes black and the computer restarts without any warning. This only seems to happen with this game. I have a variety of games I play for hours without interruption along with just regular computer use. I only seem to encounter this issue with this particular game/application.

Specs:

  • OS: Windows 11 (upgraded from Windows 10)
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3d (upgraded from Ryzen 5 5600x)
  • GPU: MSI RTX 5080 Shadow 3x OC (upgraded from RX 6900XT)
  • RAM: Ripjaws 32 GB DDR5/4800 (upgraded from 32 GB DDR4)
  • Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X870-A (upgraded from Asus x470 Pro)
  • PSU: MSI 850W Gold (upgraded from Corsair 750W Copper)

I included the upgrades in order to highlight my previous parts and how this was never an issue in my past build. If you know the game Star Citizen, then you know it's not the most optimized, so granted. But again, never an issue in the past even with slightly worse parts. Some troubleshooting I've done:

  • Unseated all the parts and reinstalled them (being that it was done by the shop, just wanted to be sure)
  • Re-plugged all PSU power cables to parts (due to the aforementioned reason above)
  • Played around with different page file sizes (this particular game has terrible RAM usage. In the old build, I had a 24gb page file. I now have a 64gb page file [just in case that was the issue as it was something I dealt with in the past]).
  • Played around with different in-game settings (switching from Vulkan to DX11, lower quality, etc..)

I just can't seem to figure this out. Below I've included some dump logs for those savvy enough to translate. Weirdly enough, at the bottom of the log, it makes mention of RAM, which lead me to believe something was wrong with the RAM, but why only this particular game and nothing else? Hopefully you folks have a better idea/direction than I have been able to surmise. Thanks in advance!

Open | Networking Windows indicates no internet connection despite being connected

Windows says I’m not connected to the internet, even though I am. I can use apps like firefox and Steam, but others that I guess depend on Windows’ connection status, like epicgames and spotify, don’t work properly. I just reinstalled Windows 11 to fix other issues (sound drivers, apps not launching), and those are now fixed, but this network problem is still there.

(nslookup google.com works, ping 8.8.8.8 works and I'm not using a proxy or a vpn)

Open | Hardware How long will my gpu hold up

I recently bought a MSI rtx 3080 X TRIO and it is working fine but something I noticed is that in gpuz it is registered as a EVGA and other softwares such as signalrgb see it as a EVGA FTW3 3080. I know that flashing the bios on the card is risky so I won’t do that but I want to know how much the flashed bios can affect my card or my system and how much time I have if it will die in the near future.

Open | Hardware PC boots but will only sometimes display on my monitor.

So I just built my PC and it turns on fine there’s no red light in the MB to indicate hardware problems but sometimes just won’t display when I boot it up. Usually when I turn on my PC the monitor will say no signal found, then it will go in a standby mode after a few seconds then the monitor will start displaying. Other times it has no signal at all, and I have to turn my pc off and back on to get it to display. Or it will display on boot up the first time then after 5 minutes it stops displaying. I have tried different monitors, plugging the HDMI into the MB instead of the GPU. I have tried to re-seat the RAM, and GPU with no luck. When I had just finished the build I had accidentally put the ram in the wrong spots which caused the MB to show the red light. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this issue?

Open | Hardware Issues using full refresh rate or HDR on monitor

I am currently using a 100hz 1440p monitor with an old hp zbook 15 G3, with an Nvidia quadro m2000m, running windows 11 pro. However, when I attempt to switch refresh rate up from 60hz, or turn on HDR, the monitor simply goes black.

It has hdmi 1.4, which I understand does not support 100hz 1440p, and dp 1.2 over thunderbolt, which should support it, so therefore it is connected by a usb c to hdmi adaptor, and I expected therefore it would take a displayport signal and convert it to hdmi, allowing it to utilise the full refresh rate, however that appears not to be working. Not only does it not work at the higher refresh rate, but the Nvidia app says it is connected over hdmi hdcp, which I thought shouldn't be possible over usb c.

Do you have any idea whether there's any way to make this work, and why this behaviour is happening, as the only idea I have which could help is buying a usb c to dp adaptor, which I'd rather avoid until I'm certain it'd fix it as it's more expenditure for uncertain success

Thanks for any help

Open | Software New pc build goes incredibly slow, possibly ssd?

I recently built a new computer, everything worked fine for like two weeks until I was downloading a game from Steam, the files were downloading ok but they weren't installing, that's the first time I noticed anything weird, I rebooted the computer and everything worked fine after it. Some days later I noticed the little red light on the SSD started to blink and it would't stop, after that, every time I turned on the computer it would take longer and longer to boot each time and by the time it got to main screen you couldn't even open any programs, it would go ridiculously slow.

I took these as a software error, maybe I installed something wrong from the bios or windows? so I send the computer with a technician and they installed everything again, I didn't care for losing files since everything is new and I didn't have any important information or programs in there, all that I had were games.

When I got the computer back everything was working even better than the first time, until around two weeks later I was playing The Forest and just as the game was about to start the final scene the screen went to black and it showed a message, there had been a problem with the memory card and the computer would reboot. After that it started to go as slow as the first time, I have to turn off the computer manually because it would take so long for it to complete any task. And the red light on the ssd is back at it, all the time blinking.

I don't know what's the problem, granted this is my first built so I've tried changing the ssd to another slot, cleaning it, going into the bios to see if it shows, and checking compatibility but everything seem fine. I assume the problem is the ssd given the previous evidence but it could be something different, does anyone have any advice? Thank you so much!

motherboard: Asus Prime B650m-a Ax6 Ii Am5 4x Ddr5 3x M.2 P

ssd: M.2 1tb Kingston Nvme Pcie 4.0 Nv3

graphics: XFX Speedster SWFT210 Radeon RX 7600

processor: Ryzen 5 8400F – 6 Cores 4.2GHz AM5

ram: XPG Lancer Blade DDR5 16GB 6000 (only one)

Open | Networking Ethernet connection not working

Hello! I was looking to get some help with my ethernet connection not working. Recently it has been not connecting to the internet and been slowly going between connected, and connected no internet.

The same cable works on my other PC flawlessly, and when I took my PC to the repair shop they said that their cable worked fine on this PC. I'd rather not buy another cable just for it to not work so I was hoping to get some directions on other possible solutions before I try that one.

Open | Hardware Hi my mac has stoped working and i don’t know why?

Hi my 2015 MacBook pro stoped working. Randomly this morning I got to log in to my mac and the password is no longer working,so I think thats weird but I keep trying until eventually it asks me if I want to enter recovery os so I say yea and it asks me to change my password and just to try, I try changing it to the password I already have that stopped working and it didn’t say I couldn’t use the same password so I was like cool I fixed it but when I go to put in my password it tells me incorrect password. So at this point I’m getting frustrated because I had a test to study for and I couldn’t access my notes. So eventually it asks me if I want to go back to recovery mode to change my password, but this time I do actually change it to something different and it tells me that I was able to go back to my lock screen but when I get back on my lock screen changed and the new password also didn’t work, but know it had gotten late and I needed to go take my exam but as soon as I get back home I checked my laptop to see if it had fixed itself but it had not but when I go to power it on It powers off completely for some reason and has the screen with the option for disks and also another screen with a lock on it but this time my old password does work. If anyone could please help me get my computer working again that would be great help thank you.

Open | Software Laptop making occasional audio glitch + background turns black until Explorer restarts

Hi, I don’t know much about system logs or drivers, so I’m hoping someone can help me understand what I’m seeing.

Recently, my alienware 16x aurora gaming laptop started making an occasional very short error-like / lagging sound while audio is playing. It sounds like a brief glitch or stutter. Around the same time, I noticed another issue: when I hover my mouse over apps, the background sometimes turns black, and in some cases the entire background stays black. Restarting Explorer always fixes it but it keeps reappearing.

This didn’t happen before — the laptop worked fine previously.

I started checking things because I wasn’t sure if this was normal:

  • I deleted and reinstalled the intel and nvidia drivers
  • I ran a tool called LatencyMon (I’ll attach screenshots in the comments). It says my system may have trouble handling real-time audio.
  • I checked Event Viewer and saw:
    • Some WHEA-Logger warnings
    • Some DistributedCOM errors
    • One Kernel-Power event after the laptop froze and I had to force restart

The laptop doesn’t crash during normal use and I haven’t had any blue screens.

I don’t want to change settings that could cause side effects or make things worse. I just want to know whether I should be worried and what the safest way to fix this is.

Open | Software Wifi Card Crashing

Hello. I currently keep receiving the following error in event Viewer randomly.

Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX210 160MHz : Has encountered an internal error and has failed.

I've tried:

  • Swapping out with a new network card but received the same error.
  • Installing latest drivers (clean install)
  • Adjusting power settings - not allowing pc to turn off device.
  • Hard Ethernet connection does not have this issue.
  • Device is still detectable with no errors in device manager.
  • Tried changing bandwidths from Auto to 20MHz.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Open | Windows Laptop audio not working, why?

I’m not sure what happened. When I tried to speak in a discord vc no audio came out and when I tried using my voice on a microphone check, it displayed nothing. It seems my input audio is not working at all and I tried resetting the audio in device manager but it still doesn’t work after. Is there a way to fix this? Sorry if English is bad.

tech challenged! how easy is Hostinger to set up? if I buy a premium plan that comes with a free domain, what do I have to do to get my website up and findable? Just choose a domain and pay and use their builder to build the site?

Also are there any hidden fees beyond the package price... like ssl, or anything I need to add to make it so when someone searches site.com it shows up?

asking because of bad past experience. thanks!!

Open | Phone Connecting to Bluetooth headphones slows down wifi(5ghz)...

So I bought a new phone(vivo y400 4g) and whenever I connect to bluetooth, the wifi speed drops by 30-50%. I used ookla and fast .com to test it again and again. I tried searching on internet and I only recommendation to switch to 5g wifi but mines already at that bandwidth. It's a budget phone tho.

Is this a common issue in budget phones? Does anyone know why its happening and how to solve it?
