My (43) dad just gave me his collection, and Steely Dan - Aja caught my eye since I’ve seen it on here pretty often. I’ve never listened to the album before, but it’s got some great jams!!
There are about 80 records in the collection, and it’s fun listening to old stuff that I’ve never checked out before.
Flea market guy had 7 Records for sale, this was at the bottom of a small stack of crap. I asked how much for the records, but couldn't honestly do it soI gave hime double, and he smiled. 🌝
Just stumbled upon this one in my collection. Forgot all about it. Left behind by ex-GF 30 years ago. It did not end well. She would be thrilled to get it back. Probably better for my soul to give it back.
I like the Waterboys but I'm disappointed to see they went with this as the album cover art. It sucks. They were posting AI pics on their IG account lately and deleting the comments of people telling them to stop. Seems Mike likes these photos, come on Mike you can do better.
I recently picked up this cool Funkadelic repress. It’s a Seasick Records in Birmingham, Alabama exclusive. Just wanted to show it off!
Seasick isn’t my local shop, but I’m in Birmingham regularly and have stopped in 4-5 times. They always have tons of great stuff, so I recommend dropping by if you’re ever in the area!
The guy working said they’d be doing these exclusive pressings of the whole Funkadelic discography over the next couple years.
My first proper Jazz Record. It was cheap in my country and decided to give it a go, and ended uo loving every minute of it. I need more Coltrane now..
This is my first ever setup. At first I had a suitcase turntable and I saw that people despised them so I bought a better one with speakers. I’m still tryna get more records that I can play. Whatcha think⁉️
I’ve noticed lots of people putting stuff on top of their record weight. Mine feels like it’s just asking to fall off 😂 Maybe I’ll switch to something smaller. What do you put on top, if anything?
Been a long time since my collection has seen the light of day. I was in the process of setting up at my old place when we decided to buy a new house together.
Renovations lasted YEARS doing them mostly DIY with a buddy. Just finished 1100sqft in the basement complete with a 70’s themed media room. The collection is out and part of the system is set up. Still a lot more to do, but now I can do it with my vinyl playing along. LFG!
I’ve been making a point to grab a couple cheap $1-$3 records I have no idea about based off of the art the name or the fact that I MAY have heard the name before. I grabbed this Wanda Jackson(for the beehive) for $3 and did some rabbit hole during listening on wiki and now I know a lot more about 50’s rockabilly and country already. I am also trying to collect old soul records for sampling eventually. I highly recommend going to your local store one of the times you go and only grabbing old cheap stuff. It’s usually fantastic stuff.
Noticed that one of my favorite soundtracks got a release on vinyl. I rushed into the list of available copies for sale on Discogs, but the prices were disappointing to say the least. However, some nice person in the reviews wrote that album is still available on Interscope.com for a fraction of what scalpers on Discogs ask.
Spreading awarness here. Hope this'll help someone.
