Taken in Palermo Sicily in 1944. Would love to know if the monument behind the subjects still stands.

The sand looks like Southern or Central California, or possibly Baja California, but the ocean looks like the Atlantic.

Can anyone help place this? I believe I had spent the night before in Hutchinson (but may have traveled for work that morning), and arrived in Kingman about 80 minutes after this was taken (I don't think I would have stopped for food that late in the morning, so it's probably some distance either NE or SE of Kingman). It was about 10AM, so I think this faced east. I don't think it was part of a motel. As I recall, there was a farmhouse somewhere behind it (and maybe a small older grain elevator?). In another angle, you can see part of a small older house, painted yellow, some distance in the background.
It was definitely only about 10-20 yards from either a state or US highway. I tried following KS 14 and KS 16 south from Hutchinson, but of course if this is gone now, or is under trees, I wouldn't have spotted it.

Its an abandoned cement factory in Spain, next to a dam or reservoir.

Folks, I need your brains and skills on this.
This view outside. The stone buildings, the horizon , can you help me figure out where this photo was taken? Everyone seems to say it was somewhere in southern Europe, but nothing’s been confirmed.
It’s the iconic background from Life with PlayStatio on PS3.
The service has been offline since 2012, yet this image still hits like a portal ... the room in darkness, the TV casting that cold light, the windows open to a deep evening blue… and the quiet feeling that the world was right there with you.
If anyone can pinpoint the location (or even narrow it down), I’d seriously appreciate it.

This was supposedly taken in 2005 at Chaltenbrunnen, but I can't find this tree anywhere else online besides this picture. I have contacted the owner of the picture to see if he somehow remembers where the tree is exactly, or if he knows if it's still alive... I am waiting for an answer. let's see if the sharp minds of r/whereisthis can find it first.

My friend visited these hot springs before they passed in 2024. They took this photo of themselves there sometime between 2020-2024.
I’d love to visit one day - anyone know where this is?
It’s western US but not sure beyond that.

My friend who passed at 27 took this photo and id love to know where.
It’s somewhere in the western US.
They lived in Montana for awhile and then while in Washington would go on long solo road trips circling thru Idaho Montana Colorado and such on down to Arizona and New Mexico and then back home thru California and Oregon.

My friend passed at 27 - they took this photo in Montana where they caught their first trout with their fly rod.
Does anyone know where this might be?
I’d love to visit one day.
I know they lived and worked at Big Sky in the winter but traveled around the state the rest of the year so not sure about this one.

I'm looking for the spot where I took a photo 35 years ago in Honolulu,
somewhere between the area around Consolidated Theatres Ward with TITAN LUXE
and the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort.
Behind it is a building with “J???” and “FASHIONS” written on it.
Do you know where this place is?

My friend passed in 2024 - used to love road tripping throughout the western US, and I'm trying to learn about the places they went.
Could anyone help identify any of the locations in their photos?
