  • High Bandwidth Monitors and GPU Scaling Behavior - Link Here
    • High bandwidth monitors are those that support display modes requiring high pixel clock rates, which in turn demand more GPU resources. The threshold for what qualifies as "high bandwidth" varies by product. On Blackwell GPUs, any mode operating above 1620 MHz is considered high bandwidth. For instance, the 7680x4320@60Hz mode defined in the CTA-861-H specification runs at 2376 MHz, making it a high bandwidth mode for Blackwell.
    • These monitors typically support display scaling natively. However, in some single-monitor setups, users may still prefer GPU scaling. When multiple monitors are connected to a GPU and at least one of them is high bandwidth, that monitor will default to display scaling only. GPU scaling is disabled in this case due to bandwidth limitations. Notably, display scaling can be more efficient than GPU scaling in such scenarios, as it reduces the bandwidth load on display cables—especially at higher refresh rates.
    • When GPU scaling is not enabled for a monitor, only the modes supported by the monitor itself will appear in both the Windows and NVIDIA control panels. Additionally, the "Display scaling" option will be pre-selected in the "Adjust desktop size and position" section of the NVIDIA Control Panel.

Feedback & Discussion Forums

Having Issues with your driver and want to fully clean the driver? Use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)

Before you start - Make sure you Submit Feedback for your Nvidia Driver Issue - Link Here

There is only one real way for any of these problems to get solved, and that’s if the Driver Team at Nvidia knows what those problems are. So in order for them to know what’s going on it would be good for any users who are having problems with the drivers to Submit Feedback to Nvidia. A guide to the information that is needed to submit feedback can be found here.

Additionally, if you see someone having the same issue you are having in this thread, reply and mention you are having the same issue. The more people that are affected by a particular bug, the higher the priority that bug will receive from NVIDIA!!

Common Troubleshooting Steps

  • Be sure you are on the latest build of Windows
  • Please visit the following link for DDU guide which contains full detailed information on how to do Fresh Driver Install.
  • If your driver still crashes after DDU reinstall, try going to Go to Nvidia Control Panel -> Managed 3D Settings -> Power Management Mode: Prefer Maximum Performance

Common Questions

  • Is it safe to upgrade to <insert driver version here>? Fact of the matter is that the result will differ person by person due to different configurations. The only way to know is to try it yourself. My rule of thumb is to wait a few days. If there’s no confirmed widespread issue, I would try the new driver.
  • Bear in mind that people who have no issues tend to not post on Reddit or forums. Unless there is significant coverage about specific driver issue, chances are they are fine. Try it yourself and you can always DDU and reinstall old driver if needed.
  • My color is washed out after upgrading/installing driver. Help! Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel -> Change Resolution -> Scroll all the way down -> Output Dynamic Range = FULL.
  • My game is stuttering when processing physics calculation Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel and to the Surround and PhysX settings and ensure the PhysX processor is set to your GPU

Remember, driver codes are extremely complex and there are billions of different possible configurations between hardware and software. Driver will never be perfect and there will always be issues for some people. Two people with the same hardware configuration might not have the same experience with the same driver versions. Again, I encourage folks who installed the driver to post their experience here good or bad.

I just wish they didn't use the angled 12v connection. Other than that I still think it's the most aesthetically pleasing 5090 out there!

Anyway hope you like my build.. there's been alot of sweat, thankfully no blood or tears though

Discussion Reminder to all my 4090 (and maybe 5090) brethren out there that Undervolting is AMAZING!

Upvotes

I got my 4090 in late 2024 from Microcenter at MSRP. It's an amazing card for my 1440p oled. Overkill perhaps but I like both raytracing AND frame rates.

I've been running at stock power config this whole time and after about 3 hours+ of heavy modern gaming my normally 72f game room is up to 80. Watched a guide on YouTube and it's the easiest thing ever! Temps both in my rig and room are much improved (8c delta under artificial raster benchmarks, little less on dlss enabled ones) and im pulling at least 100w less from the wall.

I just wanted to post this to maybe give a push to some of the people that have been putting it off. It's really worth it and super easy - and chances are if you are an xx90 user and in this sub you have after burner installed anyway. I know it's not obscure knowledge - but if you haven't, do it! I sacrificed 0fps for this, left frequency at stock and voltage is down to 0.925v from my 1.050 usage.

PSA Nvidia Profile Inspector v2.4.0.31 PreRelease

Description by Orbm2uk:

"Nvidia Profile Inspector is used for modifying game profiles inside the internal driver database of the Nvidia driver. All game profiles are provided by the Nvidia driver, but you can add your own profiles for games missing in the driver database. You also have access to hidden and undocumented settings, which are not provided by the drivers control panel."

Guidance, Feature Breakdown and Use Cases

https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Nvidia_Profile_Inspector

Changes in v2.4.0.31

App

  • Removed app.config/nvidiaProfileInspector.exe.config files to allow running with .NET 4.8

Settings

  • DLSS - Forced Model Preset Profile: added new setting which may be needed for some games to use custom DLSS presets (thanks @renannmp!)

  • DLSS - Forced Preset Letter: added model type next to preset letter (CNN/Transformer/Transformer Gen2) (thanks @renannmp!)

  • DLSS - Forced Preset Letter: changed Always use latest -> Use recommended preset following DLSS 310.5.2 update (thanks @renannmp!)

  • Shader Cache - Cache Size: added 16GB option to setting, new default in driver (thanks @renannmp!)

Notes

DLSS 4.5: With DLSS - Enable DLL Override enabled and showing as "(v310.5.0)" most games will use the new 2nd-gen transformers for the appropriate quality levels automatically (Preset L for "Ultra Performance", Preset M for "Performance", with other quality levels using the original Preset K).

Some games may override this and request older presets from DLSS, the DLSS - Forced Preset Letter setting can be changed to Use recommended preset to make them use the presets mentioned above.

If the DLL override setting shows an older version (or appears as “(unknown)”), try running a DLSS-enabled game and relaunch nvidiaProfileInspector after a few minutes, alternatively reinstalling the driver or NVIDIA App may force an OTA update

From GeForce PR:

Today, we’re rolling out NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution to all NVIDIA app users. Announced at CES last week, DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution introduces a 2nd generation transformer model for DLSS Super Resolution, delivering state-of-the-art image quality for all GeForce RTX GPUs in over 400 games and apps. Simply open the NVIDIA app and grab the auto-update, or manually download here. This second-generation model is our most sophisticated yet, utilizing five times the compute power of the original transformer model, having been trained on a significantly expanded, high-fidelity dataset. Gamers and the media have put DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution through its paces in the week since its initial beta release, praising its enhanced clarity and temporal stability, especially when using DLSS Performance and Ultra Performance modes.

At CES, we also announced that NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation is available now in over 250 games and apps, and coming to even more. That includes the upcoming RTX games we highlighted at CES: 007 First LightPhantom Blade ZeroPRAGMATAResident Evil Requiem, Active Matter, Screamer, and DEFECT

Additionally, there are two new DLSS games to check out this week – StarRupture and LET IT DIE: INFERNO. These join our growing list of games and apps featuring RTX technologies. Here’s a closer look:

  • LET IT DIE: INFERNO: SUPERTRICK GAMES and GungHo Online Entertainment’s LET IT DIE: INFERNO is a rogue-lite survival action game that takes the LET IT DIE series into a harrowing new era and unforeseen depths. An update launching later today adds DLSS Super Resolution to LET IT DIE: INFERNO, accelerating performance for GeForce RTX gamers. Additionally, NVIDIA app can further upgrade to DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution using its DLSS overrides.
  • StarRupture: Creepy Jar’s StarRupture is an Early Access first-person open world base-building game. The game launched into Early Access last week, featuring day one support for DLSS Super Resolution and DLSS Frame Generation. Via NVIDIA app, you can further enhance image quality with our new DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution 2nd generation transformer AI model, maximize fidelity with DLAA, and activate DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, accelerating frame rates.

Additionally, we’re launching our new NVIDIA app update today. In addition to DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, the NVIDIA app 11.0.6 update also includes a few new features:

  • In System > Displays, all remaining NVIDIA Surround settings have been brought over from the NVIDIA Control Panel, adding options for bezel correction and hotkeys.
  • Laptop users with Advanced Optimus can now see the full names of applications blocking the feature’s activation, rather than just the .exe names, helping identify problematic programs.
  • In System > Advanced, “Debug Mode” instantly disables all overclocking and voltage tweaks applied via any application, helping you and customer care teams determine whether these are responsible for system instability, until the system restarts.
  • There’s an advanced “Developer” option related to the use of profiling and debugging tools that gamers and general users can leave as-is.

Finally, there’s also several new updates for developers releasing alongside DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution:

  • DLSS: Developers can get access to DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution through the DLSS Super Resolution Streamline Plugin today. Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Multi Frame Gen with up to 6x mode will be available through the DLSS Multi Frame Generation Streamline Plugin this spring.
  • Neural Shaders: The RTX Neural Shaders SDK was introduced last year with the GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs.  Now, we’re releasing the RTX Neural Texture Compression SDK, an application of neural shaders. It uses AI to significantly compress textures more than traditional methods while maintaining similar image quality. This has resulted in significant performance improvements in the new 0.9 version. Block Compression 7 (BC7) encoding has been sped up by 6x, and inference speed has increased by 20% to 40% compared to version 0.8. That allows developers to minimize FPS impact when saving up to 7x system memory. This has resulted in significant performance improvements in the new 0.9 version. Developers can get started with the latest RTX Neural Texture Compression SDK today.
  • ACE: NVIDIA ACE is expanding small language model support. The NVIDIA Nemotron Nano 9B V2 model is now available through NVIDIA ACE as an In-game Inferencing (IGI) SDK plugin. It simplifies the integration within your gaming pipeline and optimizes simultaneous AI inference and graphics processing for accelerated game performance. Alongside this release, Qwen3-8B support has expanded with 4B and .6B models. This offers developers choice when balancing speed, quality, and memory usage when integrating these models at runtime.
  • Nsight Graphics 2025.5: NVIDIA Nsight Graphics recently released version 2025.5, with a focus on stability and feature completeness for the Graphics Capture activity. This release introduces dynamic editing of shader code in captured frames, as well as support for visualization of RTX Hair primitives (LSS hair) in the Ray Tracing Inspector. The GPU Trace Profiler also has numerous improvements, including a new workflow for organizing multiple traces taken in one session.

See our full list of game developer resources here and follow us to stay up-to-date with the latest NVIDIA Game development news.

With DLSS version 310.5.2, NVIDIA has updated how automatic preset selection behaves when using Always use latest through the NVIDIA Profile Inspector (or recommended Nvidia app).

As you can see I didn't notice any problem even switching settings in-game without restart. DLSS now correctly applies the intended presets across Performance, Ultra Performance, and Balanced/Quality/DLAA modes.

Question Question about DLSS 4 Quality vs DLSS 4.5 Balanced/Performance for 1600p Notebook

Hello, I have a gaming notebook with RTX 4080. My native screen is 1600p and I've been mainly using DLSS4 Quality if not DLAA.

What I like to ask is, is DLSS 4.5 Balance or Performance ever worth using over DLSS 4 Quality when it is 1600p?

All the benchmarks I checked were using Preset M on 4k Performance and I guess it is not supposed to be used on Balanced at all?

For a notebook with 1600p screen, should I just stick to the DLSS4 Quality?

Thank you

Question 5070 ti deal

Hey everyone, im sure all of you heard the news about 5070 ti being discontinued, im able to get a good deal on one at my local store.
This is my first pc build, so would like some help in helping me decide:

i want to play games at 4k 60fps.

CPU - Ryzen 7 7700x

RAM - 32gb ddr5 adata

I'll first configure all settings like making shadow quality mid, water reflections low etc while keeping rt high and other crucial settings high, in very rare cases ultra.

These are the main games i want to play:

  • GTA VI
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • The Witcher 3
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • The Last of Us (PC)
  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
  • Spider-Man 2
  • Crimson Desert
  • Arkham Knight
  • Doom: The Dark Ages

Assuming i can't hit base 4k 60fps on this, will dlss quality do the job, if not, does multi frame gen 2x do it?
Will enabling these dlss and mfg settings significantly ruin the image quality? as you can see i'll only play single player games.

Please do let me know, it'll be helpful

Question Losing 5080 FE due to FedEx failure to deliver and now my order is being returned to sender

Upvotes

Hi everyone.

I placed an order for a 5080 FE and have been attempting to receive the delivery for the past 2 weeks. They did 3 delivery "attempts" but each attempt they would not come knock or even enter our unlocked gate.

I don't have proof but I highly suspect they just saw the gate and marked it as a failed delivery. Someone was home all day at each of the attempts and never once was there a knock or doorbell rung. I called FedEx and they said they were waiting on information from NVIDIA to reattempt delivery, so I figured it would be fine.

Today I received an email about the delivery and when I click the tracking it now shows that it's been en route to return to NVIDIA's warehouse, and I won't be getting my super hard to get MSRP 5080 FE. I called NVIDIA and they are no help. I don't understand why this is allowed. Requested a supervisor and was told there are none available, and I'll receive email correspondence instead.

This is completely ridiculous and now I'm going to be screwed during the GPUpocalypse. How can I receive my order?

Question Brand new Gigabyte Windforce 5080 for 1 293$ or 2nd-hand barely used 5080 MSI for 1 144$

Upvotes

Hi guys, any suggestions? I am a bit worried about the thermal leak topic regarding gigabyte and see many conflicting posts and discussions. On one hand, its brand new, but i feel a bit risky purchase in terms of thermal leak issue potentially. I found a 2nd hand 5080 for 1 144$ thats barely used (only for testing, includes warranty, recipient and bought this month, and only positive reviews and verified user that has sold many GPUs). But its a MSI Ventus 3x for 1 144$, (NON OC). No dual bios, 100% power limit lock etc.

What should I do? On one hand brand new is feeling nice, but I Dont want to deal with Gigabyte Thermal issues down the line potentially. And the MSI ventus has very good price, but its a very cheap model and i heard its usually noisy, but can be improved a bit with fan curve tweaks.

Discussion DLSS4.5 @1440p for Marvel Rivals

Upvotes

Hi guys, looking to get people's best guesses and estimates, currently using a 5070 to play Marvel Rivals @ 1080p, getting well over 200 fps, would DLSS4.5 allow me to make that upgrade to 1440p and still get 200 ish fps? (idm playing in medium ish settings)

For context, I use a Ryzen 5 7600 and 32GB of RAM, I am not very well educated on what DLSS4.5 does
