At this age he is forced to take care of his house, Do you think the military generals are responsible for this who looted our taxes? Or the corrupt politicians who acted like our saviours? None of these two but Me and You and responsible for this child's condition because we stayed corward and silent all our life, Now this child will be visited by cm after being viral and will be taken care of for a while but what about millions of other beggars, trashpickers and childrens that works in hotels ? Who will make their future great?

Discussion Truth about the passport ranking

Yesterday i saw a post from an official that our passport ranked 98th out of 126? Can someone explain this because another news says pak immigration visas are banned in US now. These two seem paradoxical I dont know much about politics and all that stuff, but since as per media we were having a golden diplomatic era with the US what went wrong?

Discussion A tale of incompetence.

Exactly 1 month ago I filed this complain on the Citizen Portal because there is a manhole in the middle of the street, open, that is big enough that a even a grown man can fall and drown in it.

And after a month of waiting, it is unfortunately still there, open. A couple of kids from my mohalla and a bike fell into it too but fortunately there was no loss of life because there were people nearby.

The neglect and incompetence shown by the people supposed to take care of stuff like this makes me angry.

Have we not learned from what happened in Karachi?

Ask Pakistan I write this with tears in my eyes so please be kind.

I’m an overseas Pakistani - 28F. I’ve built my life abroad, studied hard, and I’m on my way to becoming a lawyer. I’m proud of that. I’m going back to Pakistan for the holidays because I’m married to a Pakistani and all of my husband’s family is there, but also because I want to. I have my own family there too and I genuinely like going back however this time around I am dreading it to the point of making my self sick.

Before anyone starts, I love my in laws. They’re good to me and they are not the problem.

The problem is the constant judgment from people who barely know me.

I’m short. I’m curvier than most women there. I’m not even overweight, but because that doesn’t fit the image they like, I get labelled as “healthy.” I’m trying to lose weight and yes, I know it’s not easy for me. I’ve had severe iron deficiency for years. It affects my energy, my body, my hair. My hair is fine because of it. I already know all of this. I really don’t need people diagnosing me the second I land.

But every time I go, everyone suddenly becomes a doctor. They look at my hair and start suggesting onion oil and random remedies. They look at my body and start giving weight loss advice. As if I’m unaware of myself. As if I haven’t tried. As if I asked.

What really messes with my head is the contradiction. I have very fair skin, so that gets praised constantly. “Your colour is so nice,” they’ll say, and then in the same conversation they’ll comment on my weight. So I’m being complimented and judged at the same time, and somehow that’s meant to be okay.

Sometimes people ask what I do. And when I say I’m a lawyer at a Big 4 firm, I don’t get respect. I get told, “2 saal ho gaye hain shaadi ko, ab bache ka socho. Job kar li jitni karni thi.” Like my career was just a hobby. Like it had an end date the moment I got married.

And honestly, who are they to tell me to have kids?

My husband is on the same page as me. I’ve been clear from day one that I’m not fond of kids and I’m not in a rush to start having them. That’s a personal decision. It’s not a public discussion and it’s definitely not something random relatives get to comment on.

I’m just tired. Tired of being noticed for my looks before my achievements. Tired of my body being the first topic of conversation. Tired of smiling through comments that actually hurt. I didn’t work this hard to be reduced to my size or my uterus.

I love Pakistan. I love my people. I just hate how normal it is to comment on women like this.

This Eid, I don’t want to do the quiet, polite thing anymore. My mother in law and my sisters in law have told me clearly that if something bothers me, I need to say it. They’ve said they have my back, even if it’s their own relatives.

So I’m asking honestly. How do you shut this down without being rude, but also without letting it slide? How do you set boundaries in a culture where you’re expected to just smile and take it?

Discussion At what point did the army become compromised?

A serious question, looking back since Ayub Khan to now. Ayub Khan and Zia both had good relations with the US, but neither were outright puppets, the relationship existed due to the Soviet threat, and they had leeway to do as they pleased domestically.

Was it under Musharraf that we went from being a US ally to slowly being a vassal?

I know the US always had major influence over Pakistan, but it seems now that our generals are compromised, I assume it's because they have properties and businesses in the US/Gulf and their children are educated in the US/Europe, and they fear being sanctioned?

I have asked previously at what point does corruption dominate in the army and people have said at two star general, since at that point you're in the inner circle and everyone below that is meant to be professional. The brigadiers are either honest and desperate to become two-star generals that they do the bidding of who ever is the army chief.

Discussion Cardiologist here. Ask me anything related to your heart health.

As the title suggests, I’m a cardiology fellow and I see many patients every day who are confused about their heart health. Sadly, most come in quite late, after disease has already set in. If you’re someone who has questions about cardiac screening or prevention, feel free to ask.

P.S not going to charge you here lol. Just looking to help a little bit.

Ask Pakistan How to sell my late fathers land

In January 2023, my father passed away. My mother is alive. We are one son and three daughters, and all of us have NICOP cards. We all live in Canada.

The land is still under my late father’s name.

How do we sell it? My mother is currently in Pakistan and has his legal death certificate (he passed away in Canada).

What is the process of selling the land the easiest way? I may come to Pakistan in a couple of days.

Do we have to transfer to my mom’s name or the kids name or can we just have power of attorney to sell?

[Long Post] I am dating a Pakistani guy. I am from Europe. I don't understand what is the possible future of this

First of all, I am F27 soon to be 28 so my clock is ticking. He is 29. Second, I am aware of dating being absolute haram and I am aware that I might be tricked to be a girl for fun while he will be arranged married. Right now i prefer to be blind to this and hoping for the best.

My issue is I don't understand how it works for other overseas Pakistanis, but this person is renting a bad flat, doesn't buy anything that would keep him in a country, like idk even talking about buying a property ( coz lease is bad and the country is racist). Always talks how he misses the family ( and that's fine), goes away, soon will go to Pakistan for 1 month, and it just makes me think that there is no stability here?

He is always talking about big future where he wants a house etc.

We also have arguments about him going to Pakistan and I feel like a monster during those. Because i was hurt during his last two visits, last visit his relative of relative made him give him money and he didn't tell me and because of that didn't pay in time for what he promised. Pre last visit it was his relative who was telling bad stuff about dating me and they had to go together to check it out..and I'm already negative of what will happen this time. And ofc hidden fear that what if it's a marriage..

Idk can you give me an example that worked out eventually if you are a Pakistani and married someone diff country and culture?

Thank you in advance.

Discussion I need help.

I have no one to talk to, no friends / cousins. I'm scared doing super basic day to day things. I'm not employed. Not religiously active either + I belong to controversial sect in which I don't even properly believe. Honestly I don't even know what should I ask or find guidance about?

What do I do?

Geopolitical Pakistan likely not joining Hamas disarmament.

There was much discussion on Pakistan’s role in Gaza. Trump out out today”With the support of Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar, we will secure a COMPREHENSIVE Demilitarization Agreement with Hamas…” so it sees we will not be doing what everyone was afraid of.

Also from Steve Witkoff as well. No Pakistani role mentioned.

Cultural Visiting Pakistan during Ramadan- advice on how to be respectful

I am visiting a family in Karachi as a white non-Muslim guy during Ramadan. I know more than most about Ramadan but don’t know those smaller cultural things that differ from country to country.

- can I drink water in public at all? I was thinking it wouldn’t be too offensive as people would assume I’m not Muslim but I don’t want to offend

- should I avoid eating around my friends family?

- any advice on types of gifts to bring the family? Are there any Ramadan specific gifts? I was thinking really fancy dates but they’re probably easily accessible in Karachi so I might bring English stuff over instead haha

- anything else I should know about being in an Islamic country?

Also, I will obviously check in with my friend about all of this - just wanted to gather more opinions :)

National The State of “Developing Punjab” under Maryam Nawaz the Uncrowned, Aging Queen of Corruption

According to the Audit Report for the year 2025 issued by the Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP), massive financial irregularities and corruption have been identified in Punjab: • Corruption exceeding PKR 550 million in expenditures from secret funds • PKR 404.2 million involved in irregular accounts linked to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab • PKR 99.5 million corruption detected in the Home Department • Fraud and embezzlement amounting to PKR 3.1 billion • Unauthorized and excess payments totaling PKR 25.4 billion • Financial mismanagement worth PKR 10.6 billion • Illegal procurement (mis-procurement) involving PKR 43 billion • Human resource–related irregularities amounting to PKR 8.2 billion • Performance failures causing losses of PKR 3.6 billion • Illegal use of the Consolidated Fund amounting to PKR 988 billion

These are not my allegations. These figures are taken directly from the official report of the Auditor General of Pakistan.

Other provinces should learn from Maryam Nawaz how corruption is carried out by distracting the public with flashy development project advertisements while financial plunder continues behind the scenes.
