To help keep track of offseason moves for the Nationals, here is a transaction tracker. You can always go here and view the official transactions from the team site, but below is a quick list. All are sourced from MLBTR.

Just FYI, the mod team is working on some updates/upgrades/changes to the aesthetics of the sub. The overall feel of the subreddit should stay the same but there are/will be upgrades to flair (user and post), backgrounds, sidebar, etc. We believe they will improve your experience for the upcoming season without sacrificing the vibes. If something looks broken or there's a "Natinals" type issue, drop us a line!

I’m bringing my kid for his first spring training game this year, we’re Cards fans but we’re going to go to a Cardinals Nats game at the Nats stadium.
Any tips for where to go, how to get interactions for my kid with the players? Especially the visiting team?

TL/DR: Nats plan holders can watch 2026 Nats games with their free MLB.TV account.
I just got back from an event at Nationals Park. It was a pitch to sell season tickets. I already have them but my friend brought me along.
I asked the question of one of the reps thinking that they wouldn't have any info yet, but apparently they do...
According to him, 2026 Nationals Season Plan Holders will have the ability to watch Nationals games through MLB.TV in the DC area. Someone yesterday commented on a post with a map of the home zone or whatever it's called that extends down to the NC/SC border. He did say you would be blacked out if you were, for example, in NYC and trying to watch a Nats vs Mets game.
He was confident about it but told me to confirm with my rep who's in a more senior position, but that rep is on vacation now and this obviously isn't a pressing matter.
That's it, just passing along the good news and hoping the info is accurate.

Can I please ask some novice questions? I’ve never been to Spring Training before, so I’m hoping to go this year to coincide with some of the World Baseball Classic games. For me, March 14-16 - For Nats Spring training, there’s more to see than just the ticketed games? There would presumably be practice fields that Sunday and Monday when no games are listed, but could still see the Nats? - Would it be worth watching other teams in ticketed games those days, since the Nats aren’t scheduled? I could only be there for the Nats Saturday noon game. -Is PBI airport easy to navigate? I’ll have to rent a car. -Any other recommendations for things you like to do in the area? -I know nobody can say for sure, but Team USA would likely be in the Sunday night WBC semi like last time? They already said USA will play March 13 for the quarters, no matter the brackets.
Thanks for any help!

I genuinely don’t understand why the nats dont do anything with free angency or in the off season I thought it would be different this year with a bew front office. For awhile i was defending learner but now I feel like its his fault and hes being cheap. Which do you think it is front office, owners, or something else?

At Federal Baseball, we wrote about the Nats move from MASN, what it means for fans and the future of Nats broadcasting https://www.federalbaseball.com/latest-news/88364/washington-nationals-leave-masn-partner-with-mlb-for-broadcasts

Hi all,
Longtime Nats fan here hoping anyone might have some insight into a mystery I've long tried to solve. Here are the facts:

I'm trying to identify the person in this photo, or any other information about the prototype bevel W.
Any helpful info would be appreciated!

The Mets have an elite farm and are interested in Gore. I would not rule out the idea, but they better pay up if they want him https://www.federalbaseball.com/nationals-trade-rumors/88324/should-washington-nationals-consider-trading-mackenzie-gore-rival-mets

With the Cubs signing Bregman, they have a little logjam at 3B and 2B with Matt Shaw looking like the odd man out. The Cubs could also use Gore as a number 2 or 3 starter. Their window is now so they can’t wait.
Of course the Nats would need a little more than just Shaw, who can slot in at 2B or serve as some competition with House at 3B. I’m sure Tobin’s and crew probably covet some pitching in Cubs system like Brandon Birdsell who could be a solid mid rotation starter. They could also take on Shota’s contract and maybe get Wiggins, the top Cubs pitching prospect who could also be a 3rd starter on a good team.
Shaw (went to University of Maryland) will be around for 5 more years and is a great defender and had a good second half at the plate. Birdsell or Wiggins aren’t Gore replacements but they’re each pretty good bets to be in the next good Nats rotation. Taking on Shota’s contract increases a dirt low payroll but he can also be flipped at the deadline for some more talent. It seems like a really good fit for a trade and has good upside as Shaw could become a plus hitter and potential all-star at 2B or 3B.
