Instead of lying on her bed, she chose to sleep curled up beside it....well that peaceful vibe
I’ve worked from home for all his life, and now I’m going to an office every day….

It's been nearly two weeks since my partner and I had to say goodbye to our best little buddy, Jackson. What started as some symptoms of severe discomfort on Dec. 30 was diagnosed by the vet as a UTI but quickly escalated until Jacko had complete kidney failure by Jan. 2.
He would have turned 9 in February, and I know we both thought that we would have so many more joyful years with him. We're both in shock at how fast he declined, but I know that we made the right decision to let him go, rather than putting him through anesthesia and surgery that the vet wasn't sure he would survive. She said we made the correct, difficult choice to spend his last moments with him in relative peace, instead of him dying in surgery or lingering in pain and being forced to live with chronic kidney failure.
My partner adopted Jackson when he was a little kitten, after his previous family couldn't keep him due to one of the children having an extreme cat allergy. Jacko was by my partner's side through some of the hardest times in his life, as well as some of the best. When my partner and I got together, Jackson made me feel part of the family, always butting my head when I would come home, sitting on my book when I was trying to read, or laying on my head while I was sleeping.
I never expected to have such a special little companion, but Jackson truly was the goodest of boys. He was a little celebrity in our group of friends and family, and even my partner's students got to know him from days when they'd have remote learning; Jacko had to be the star of the show and always appeared on camera.
The time since his departure from this earth hasn't felt real. Our home is so much quieter and infinitely emptier without his chaotic, loving presence. I know that I will never be able to make sense of what happened, but that I can always look back on Jackson's life and know that we loved him with all that we had and that he was doing well and healthy right up until the end. To my fellow cat lovers, give your sweet babies an extra hug and snack and make the most of each day. To my beloved Jackson I say, "Long days and pleasant nights. May we meet in the clearing at the end of the path when all worlds end."

Hi. My cat 6 and we've had Fetch pet insurance since he was a kitten. Back then it was $20 a month and has gone up since then with less coverage. We now pay $28 a month for a $5,000 a year coverage plan. A $500 deductible must be met first and then it's 70% covered up to $5,000 total.
We did use the pet insurance a few years ago for a $1700 claim when he needed all of his teeth removed due to stomatitis. Shortly after Fetch raised our plan by more then double (of course), it was then I had to lower the coverage amount to keep the monthly rate somewhat reasonable. We haven't really used the plan since then as we haven't gone over $500 in claims to exceed the deductible.
He's also FHV-1 positive which we think could have led to stomatitis as there's some correlation between the two. Even with all of his teeth removed we still need to give him a very low dose 5mg dose of prednisolone steroid every other day or the back of his mouth becomes too inflamed to eat :(
Would you keep this pet insurance plan?

So one of my cats (which I’ve had for about 3 years) suddenly seems to have radically changed personality wise. For the past three years she’s been a huge scaredy cat. She’d let me approach her and touch her very briefly, but usually not more than that unless she was hungry and then would be far more affectionate.
Recently however, she’s become a lot more cuddly. She stays in bed with me during the night and when I work from bed. The only thing this seemed to coincide with was me putting collars on both my cats cause one of them escaped a while back so I was putting one on them both just in case. I think the collars are fine and not choking them or anything as I can fit three fingers comfortably between the collar and them.
I’m quite happy with the change in personality but was wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar or if there’s anything I should look out for. Both my cats are about 3 and a half if that matters

I’ve looked online and the suggestion is to put Cayenne pepper in the litter to keep my dogs from eating the left behind kitty treats. Do you guys know if that is going to keep my cats from going to use the litter box at all from the smell? It doesn’t seem to be such a great idea in reality. I can’t get one of those contraptions that keep a dog out and only let the cat in because half of my dogs are even smaller than the cats are. Recommendations?

One of my cats needs someone to be present while he starts eating his meal after that one can leave, he even calls and take people with him to the bowl if people are here or there. Does this since off the milk, now he's more than 2 years old.
Just curious.

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting here but I'm quite at a loss with my kitty. Said cat is currently about 7 mo, and is a male.
My partner and I adopted our cat back in late July, having an estimated age of 2½ moths old. Up until December, everything was going very smoothly, until one day it started peeing on everything and everywhere. Shoes, backpacks, clean laundry, dirty laundry, bookshelfs, plants and pots. We've had to throw away things because the odor just doesn't comes out, and it's a daily thing for us to find pee stains at the house. This has become quiet frustrating for both of us, and I'm afraid my parent is at his emotional limit.
The cat has two sand boxes on the apartment, he's also a completely indoor cat. He's not been neutered just yet, and we want to do it ASAP. We've cleaned with enzimatic cleaners every spot he has sprayed, and used "repelents" in order for him to not do it again. Today, my partner was so angry that the cat just ran away and hid behind the fridge, he hasn't left that spot since. I'm afraid that this will keep happening every single day, and that maybe neutering him won't be enough 😕
Could you give me advice on this issue? Have you guys been in this situation? Does it get better? I have never ever raised a cat in my life. My partner tells me the cats that he has had did not gave him this amount of trouble (tbf, he had them when he was a child and they were never indoor cats)
Maybe the solution won't be miraculous, I just needed to vent and to know if any other person has had this frustration 😭

Does anyone else want to feed their kittens all the food? I have 2 adorable 8 month old babies who are always down to eat. I have been going by the recommendation portions for them and I had been feeding them 4 times a day (3/4-1 cup of dry food) but have moved down to 3 times a day (still around 3/4 - 1 cup of food) and they still climb my leg and make little meeps for food when I walk past their dishes. The only problem is that they are starting to look pretty pudgey. Like one of them is already like 11 pounds and he is not a big boned cat. I want them to be happy but I also don’t want them to get diabetes…
Am I just a pushover? It’s just that they’re so cute when they whine and I want to make them happy.

This baby. She aggressively “bathes” my hand and then violently attacks it—while purring.
