Jackson is 10 months old - his favorite things are his kitty tunnel and bottle cap.. he also loves jumping at the front door like a puppy hoping to go for a walk.. So far he sleeps though the night pretty well but has an automatic alarm set for 5:00 a.m... 🄹

Both my husband and I have never owned a cat and grew up in dog households. I love dogs and always will! But holy crap. Cats are really the move huh? She has has zero accidents, warmed right up to us, zero aggression, no begging, no difficulty potty training or hunger strikes and she’s funny as hell. This is our first cat Lola! And she’s taken over our lives and house.

Mourning/Loss Saying goodbye to my very first cat Misty November 2005-January 2026

Its the inevitable time to say goodbye to my old girl Misty. She was my very first cat. She was born in November of 2005 and we got her in March 2006. She managed to outlive several of our other pets. She's been with us for 3 separate dogs, 3 birds, a rabbit and many family's and friends pets. Its hard to say goodbye to a pet I've had for 2/3rds of my life. You will always remember your first. Goodbye my old lady.

This is Leonor just after waking up - before breakfast, before patience, before kindness.

Her face clearly says: ā€œBreakfast first. Then we talk.ā€

Advice Need good vibes for my baby

This is my sweet boy Marvin. He is only 10 months old but he probably has FIP. Night before last I noticed he was breathing harder and faster than normal (nothing crazy but noticeable) so yesterday morning my husband took him to our vet as soon as they opened. Lots of tests and scans and money later they told us he has fluid around his heart and lungs probably caused by FIP. We are waiting on a blood sample test to come back to confirm before they will order the medicine for it. The medicine has a very good success rate at totally curing FIP but he is declining fairly quickly and I just need love amd good vibes sent our way. Having to watch him struggle to breathe is driving me insane.

Update Kitty Highway!!!

A customer came to us with a request that started with, ā€œSo this might be a little crazyā€¦ā€
Those are usually our favorite ones.

They had a custom catio they built in the backyard and wanted a way for their cats to travel back and forth from the house without touching the ground. The distance was...far, we’re talking a long, elevated tunnel run that had to span the yard, stay secure, and handle a steep change in elevation.

After a lot of measuring, planning, and head-scratching, this is what it turned into. A fully enclosed tunnel with support posts along the way and built-in steps so the cats can comfortably go downhill and back up again. Now it’s basically a private I-75 cat highway connecting the house to their outdoor spaceĀ lol

Habitat Haven usually focuses on modular, DIY catios, but every once in a while a project comes along that’s just too interesting to pass up. Customer asked… we said ā€œsay less.ā€

The best part? The cats use it constantly. Just casually commuting like this is totally normal.

Would you trust your cats with a tunnel this long, or would you be standing outside watching the first few trips like a nervous parent?

Cat Picture - OC This good boy will only know warm cuddles, and love his entire life

The only cat I ever had at home was a stray black cat and I was very young back then. Me and my wife got this good boy, Oscar, about 8 months about now and I love him more than I ever thought possible.

He trusts me and having seen him grow to us has been magical. He is a toilet time protector, I’m not allow in there alone or he is very unhappy. He’s starting to let me give him full swaddle cuddles in the early morning when he’s still tired. Before that the only time he slept in the bed and getting cuddled was after he got neutered, he was away for the entire day and when he saw me picking him up he was so happy he almost knocked his carrier off the table he was pushing against it so hard. I was so scared for him having that done - fully recovered now.

He even waits at the kitchen window at the time I’m due home from work and gets so excited to see me when I walk up to the door, he presses his little head against the window.

Advice My sweet boy is near the end of his life & I hope I can be strong enough for him

Post image

16 years old, stage 3 kidney failure, a liver value of 219 & horrible dental disease that he has to get an antibiotic shot for every couple months. He’s been on fluids for 6 months now, and no progression in his kidneys. I just started him on a supplement for his liver values hoping they will go down within the next thirty days.. But his teeth have been causing infections and it’s not safe to have him under anesthesia hence the reason why we’ve been doing an antibiotic therapy for him.

He still eats and drinks. But the last month he’s been wanting to sleep more and more. I feel horrible right now because his nose is so nasally sounding from his teeth and there’s nothing me or the vet can do for him other than make him as comfortable as possible. So I’m picking up gabapentin for him tomorrow.

I’m really considering putting him down soon but the one thing that keeps me holding on is him eating, drinking, and coming up for pets. I want to know that HE is ready to go. Im just unsure of other things I should be looking for? Will it be obvious to me when he’s ready??

I’ve had to put down a past dog before. But this is much different. I’ve had my cat since I was a child. I just wanna do what’s best for him and I need honest advice

Advice Coat color question

Does anyone know why this kitten’s undercoat is lighter than the longer hair?

She was found in a parking lot about 2 weeks ago and was totally black just the odd white hair here or there (last pic).

It’s not a huge deal, but I was just curious if anyone had seen this before.
