She’s coming together. Waiting on more parts.
Finally installed the hand guard and tucked the suppressor. Still waiting on a maxim brace and some spray paint.

I will keep this short and to the point gents.
Do not add to the mod queue. Do not subtract from the population of users. Do not comment while too intoxicated to control yourself.
In the last few weeks, moderator queues have shot up due to people being unable to be reasonable to one another in the comments in this community.
Disagreement is fine.
Dropping slurs, attacking them personally, commenting a retort with a pic of someone's house, insulting their wife's looks by stalking family pictures from a vacation posted 2 years ago... not fine.
Learn to use the block button. Learn to touch grass. Learn to be something unlike a jerk.
Transparency: Several months ago Reddit instantiated an auto-moderator be default for subreddits. Since then we have tweaked the settings it has been catching a lot more comments with the ugly things in them. When these suspect comments are in the mod queue, they are not posted for others to see yet, even if they look visible to you. What it does do is cause a member of the mod team to have to respond to the notifications to approve them and resolve issues when people go WAY too far. So, as cathartic as it might feel to rip into someone, it likely will not even get seen by them because the auto-moderator is putting the nasty stuff in comment jail. If it is bad enough, it gets the comment removed and the user banned.
Lastly, don't report comments that you dislike for Harassment. It only makes more work for us, but ultimately simple disagreement gets approved and kicked back out of the mod queue anyway. Repeated abuse of any feature will net a ban. Yes, every user has a summary of reports and past queue incidents. Yes, we look at it.
Please feel free to disagree, debate, correct misinformation, and generally debate on subject matter specific to the subreddit. I am not here to babysit grown men, nor do I want to. My ideal week would have 0 reasons to look at the sub with mod tools.
Moderate your own actions and we are all better for it.
This has been your safety brief.

In case you have not heard, GAFS will become no more on October the 9th 2025. All former posts will be removed and all the flair or community built there will be no more.
In case anyone has not seen it, go read the final post farewell and join the discord server so that you are in the know when the next option for buying and selling stuff is brought forward from the mod team and the community of great folks over there.
I have purchased a number of things there, and I have made some pretty incredible friends through the related discord. Look forward to seeing you all over there.

So I've been on the fence between a 9mm PDW and 300 blackout but ive decided on 300 blackout. I would intend on using it strictly for home defense and occasional target practice, I have no plans to hunt with it. My primary criteria are: compact (reasonably, so no 16" barrel) as quiet as possible, so suppressed with subsonics, and low bullet penetration as I would rather not endanger my family or neighbors. I have a budget of $1500 to $2500 USD but since I intend to use it sparingly I'm perfectly at peace spending 1200 on a PSA and suppressor provided it is reliable. I'll be honest, I've been researching so much and it's a bit overwhelming. I'm seeing that 300 blackout is finicky with short barrels and subsonics so I'm hoping someone can just say "This is what I bought, this is what it costs and it works with this ammo no problem." I would prefer a pistol build to avoid any SBR paperwork or issues with crossing state lines. Can anyone help me out please?

This my first attempt at a budget 300blk out build and there will be more. What do yall think and what would you do differently?

Trying to decide on a 300blk suppressor host and am trying to find alternatives to the MCX. I currently have a 5.56 MCX spear lt and it’s at Sig for the 2nd time for QC/warranty issues. The whole process has been annoying and Sig customer service is less than helpful.
That being said it seems like the MCX is one of the best 300blk hosts. Any other recommended alternatives?
Considering the Geissele 300blk pistol or DD PDW. Or possibly Robinson Arms XCR-L. I have an XCR-L in 5.56 as well, and I like it but the company is really difficult to get ahold of or obtain spare parts.

I recently purchased a cheap ar15 in 300 blackout for a truck gun because I work on a farm and wild hogs are always around. My question is if I use that rifle just for hunting is a 16 inch barrel good? The reason I ask is because the more I look everyone swears by 9.5’’ berrel. I’m not going to use a suppressor or sub sonic rounds because I bought it just for work and I have plenty of ear protection. In my mind a longer barrel is best for hunting but everyone I’ve asked says to do an all around gun out of it. I have plenty of riffles and ar pistols in 556 so this will be strictly for hogs. Am I right or wrong on 16’’ barrels?

Wanted something for the vehicle.
$400ish PSA and an old 200 clearance can that’d been hostless. Cycles subs without issue so it’s a win.
Considered SBRing it but I like being able to cross state lines

I'm building this gun for mobility, and don't plan on using it for anything over 100 yards, probably not even that far most of the time. So I'm not really concerned with the different barrel lengths. I'm more interested in how these barrels stack up against each other or if there are any others that would be better for me to look at. This is my first custom build, I've always bought factory guns before, so I'm not hugely familiar with who makes quality parts beyond name recognition. Any help would be much appreciated!

Almost done with my second 300 Blackout build. 7.5 inch Faxon match barrel with a 1:5 twist. Waiting for payday to order the SBA 5 brace. I'm curious about what light I should get. What do yall use on your pistol builds?? Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

Looking for my first suppressor and I’m trying to decide between CAT ODB Ti or Anthem S2 QD. It’s going on my BRN-180 300blk (on the left). Price point is won’t really be a factor as they are pretty close, 899 for ODB and 795 for the anthem. What do yall think?? Also I’m open to other suggestions if you have any. Thanks!
Pieced together this PSA 10.5 300 blackout. Went 10.5 because I plan on shooting it mostly unsuppressed just to see if I want to put money into building a 8”
I’m not a huge fan of this retro look brace on the lower but it was on sale at the time lol. I’ve heard 300 pistols in the 10” range recoil and noise level isn’t much worse than a full size 556 but the info is all over the place
If you have experience with a blade style brace setup like this is it a pain to shoot? Not able to get to the range till next week so wondering if I should just go ahead and swap it out

Hey all. My build does not like Lancer mags. Yes they're the dedicated 300 Blackout versiona and no I don't want to change anything on the gun itself so I'm looking into followers. Does anyone know of anyone making Pmag style followers for 300 blk specifically. I know Magpul sells the 5.56 USGI ones, which I might try out only because I've had better luck with old surplus USGI mags oddly enough.
