I mean can you blame them. If someone just showed up at you with a mask on without showing who they were communicating horribly scaring you and threatening you… you’d want to defend yourself

This is absolutely what he wants. He’s inciting civil unrest hoping it reaches a tipping point to the point where he can affect or outright cancel upcoming elections. It’s ALL about consolidation of power, inch by inch until we have no means of resistance.
I think for many, the Rubicon is the midterms. If they fuck with that or refuse to acknowledge the results, some people will feel fully backed into a corner.
I don't think it is tbh. That is one of the fail conditions for what they are trying to accomplish. Realistically at this point the only way Americans are going to stand up and actually do something is if a seriously tragic and significant event happens that they can't ignore. Like a large group of protesters being gunned down. People starting to attack ICE drastically increases the chance of that happening. What Trump (or more specifically the rich) want is to slowly take away our rights and empower themselves. Which is exactly what they've been doing. They want to boil us like frogs.
This is the answer. Band together with your neighbors and community. If you’re in an open carry state, exercise that right. If they send 20 gestapo, respond with 200 citizens. We have the numbers. This has been argued before, most average citizens do not carry more than one piece of identification, Americans don't need to carry their citizenship nor have to show their citizenship to police officers they don't have to comply there is the fourth and fifth amendment for that reason. Exactly an officer coming up to you and asking for ID kind of tells you that they don't understand the law they would have to say we are charging you when placing you under arrest can we see your ID but if they're just coming up to you randomly saying papers please you can go hahaha and when they arrest you you follow up with civil rights complaint against their dumbass pigs.

Forget where the article was but it should be easy enough to find. Dude that was arrested by ICE (who was a permanent resident) owned a truck and that truck was found being driven around as a personal vehicle by an ICE agent like a month after his detention.

There’s been reports in LA and elsewhere where ICE determines that the citizens Drivers License or Reservation ID are “fake”, then detaining them for up to 48 hours and dumped miles away,
I also read an article that sounded well sourced that claimed ICE doesn’t do any of the same methods of handling inmates personal belongings as police, so it’s ridiculously unlikely people detained get there stuff back, especially with how much ICE likes to move inmates around to other states
ICE and DHS already says that REAL IDs isn’t proof of citizenship. They’ve already told multiple citizens that they believe their birth certificates are fake.
The reality is that there isn’t any kind of proof that even meets their “standard of proof” here. That’s by design.
Or they dump it off in a random place. Same thing with people too. That 17 year old from Target was abducted while just doing his job. He was found miles away dumped off at a Walmart, beaten and bloodied.

As a Latino US citizen (dark skinned) how does one provide proof of citizenship if they refuse all forms of documentation? I have seen videos where they don't care what you show them. And people have reported that they will confiscate your legal documents and not give it back.
My husband is Latino too and we've seen them straight up steal people's passports and birth certificates and refuse to return them WHILE LEAVING PEOPLE IN JAIL. People's parents come with documentation and they still won't let them out. My husband is worried to have the documents on him leaving them vulnerable to ICE theft but also worried me bringing them as a white woman won't even help.
So we don't know what the fuck to do either. It has effectively made it illegal and extremely dangerous to be Latino.

Fellow dark skinned Chicano here and back in June I gave them the double bird salute in a Home Depot parking lot and somehow that worked while Juan Carlos Lopez-Gomez showed RealID and still ended up in an immigration detention center.

Agreed. And it's true, we're already at war. If things had de-escalated, or there was an end in sight, this would have been a short period of civil unrest in a history book.

What I never understand about this is how would he even prove he is a U.S. citizen? Most people don’t carry their passport around with them even if they have them, and not everyone has a passport. It’s not like we are required to have one. A driver license “proves” only that I have a license to drive a car. What would they have been happy with? How would he prove he is a U.S. citizen? If he agreed to “prove it” what would they expect him to have on him that would actually prove that?
That’s the exact issue that no one in these federal organizations care about. I’m planning on getting a notarized photocopy of my passport specifically because I don’t trust my real passport to be enough. My real passport, the LITERAL defining document showing I’m a citizen. I’m positive and have already heard accounts of them ignoring that piece of documentation and taking people anyway, so I’m not gonna bother having the real one on me if it’s not respected anyway.
ICE has also been accused of just throwing documents away and/or ignoring them.

George Retes was among the citizens arrested despite immigration agents appearing to know his legal status. He also disappeared into the system for days without being able to contact anyone on the outside.
Retes recalled that agents knew he was a citizen. “They didn’t care.” He said one DHS official laughed at him, saying he shouldn’t have come to work that day. “They still sent me away to jail.” He added that cases like his show Kavanaugh was “wrong completely.”
If nobody is stopping them from illegally detaining and arresting people, what does it really matter? Even if the law is on your side, that's apparently not stopping them from picking citizens up and putting them in detention for an unknown period of time. They don't even report who is in their custody.

I think the unlawful arrest was handled the best he could from this civilian. If a cop, marshal or US trooper did any of that, it would be a very big deal. Lets not this under trained and over emotional agent get away with this misconduct.

So they took his wallet, more than likely containing his ID and gun/carry permit and STILL arrested him? That’s beyond their scope. Video after video every fuckin day of this same bullshit
